First Long-Time Airborne Fungal Spores Study in Dublin, Ireland (1978–1980)

چکیده

Ambient fungal spores within the atmosphere can contribute to a range of negative human, animal and plant health conditions diseases. However, trends in spore seasonality, species prevalence, geographical origin have been significantly understudied Ireland. Previously unpublished data from late 1970s recently collected analysed establish historical trends/characteristics for Dublin. Historical concentrations were largely dominated by Alternaria, Ascospores, Basidiospores, Botrytis, Cladosporium, Erysiphe Rusts. The main season Dublin commenced April with fructification Scopulariopsis Ganoderma. vast majority other types did not reach peak release until summer. correlation between ambient concentration, meteorological parameters was examined using Multivariable Regression Tree (MRT) analysis. notable correlations found tended involve temperature-based parameters. use non-parametric wind regression also employed determine potential spores. impact direction, high windspeed on established, ultimately highlighting importance studying monitoring Ireland, rather than attempting rely regions, as most appeared originate island.

Guidelines on ambient intramural airborne fungal spores.

OBJECTIVES To generate baseline data for indoor airborne fungal spores in noncomplaint residential properties (with no moisture/mold-related problems) and to identify home characteristics indicative of elevated fungal levels. METHODS Air samples were collected onto petroleum jelly-coated slides from living rooms of 100 residential properties in Leicestershire, United Kingdom, using a Burkard ...

Thirty-four identifiable airborne fungal spores in Havana, Cuba.

The airborne fungal spore content in Havana, Cuba, collected by means a non-viable volumetric methodology, was studied from November 2010 - October 2011. The study, from a qualitative point of view, allowed the characterization of 29 genera and 5 fungal types, described following the Saccardo´s morphotypes, as well as their morphobiometrical characteristics. In the amerospores morphotype, the c...

Effects of fungal species, cultivation time, growth substrate, and air exposure velocity on the fluorescence properties of airborne fungal spores.

UNLABELLED Real-time bioaerosol monitoring is possible with fluorescence based instruments. This study provides information on major factors that can affect the fluorescence properties of airborne fungal spores. Two fluorescence-based bioaerosol detectors, BioScout, and ultraviolet aerodynamic particle sizer (UVAPS), were used to study fluorescent particle fractions (FPFs) of released spores of...
